Ten digits with equal weight
A d10 provides ten equally likely outcomes. Depending on the convention, the faces may be read as 0 through 9 or as 1 through 10; this tool's displayed range makes that choice explicit. The average of 1 through 10 is 5.5. A ten-face die is especially useful when rules are expressed in tenths, digit tables, or paired percentile notation.
A digit-table example
Suppose a table assigns entries 1 through 10 and the displayed value is 8. Entry 8 is selected with probability 10%. If the physical die instead uses a 0 face, agree whether 0 means zero or ten before rolling. That apparently small convention changes which table row is reached, even though the underlying ten face positions remain equally likely.
Pairing two d10s changes the experiment
A percentile-style result commonly uses one die for tens and another for ones. A tens digit of 4 and a ones digit of 7 form 47 under one shared convention. That is not the same as adding two d10s: addition creates a triangular distribution, whereas ordered digit pairs create 100 equally likely labels once the zero and double-zero rules are defined.

A ten-row lookup table may number rows 0 through 9, 1 through 10, or use names instead of numerals. Copy that key with the result when it matters later. Without the key, a shown zero or ten can be read two ways even though the random choice itself was perfectly well defined. A photographed or saved table avoids a later dispute about the intended row.
